Texas Fingerprint & Notary is The Woodlands’ trusted fingerprinting office. Whether your agency, employer, or licensing board needs a Live Scan submission, an FBI background check, an FDLE (Florida) submission, or physical FD-258 fingerprint cards, we capture clean, rollable prints on the first visit — so your application moves forward instead of bouncing back for a re-do. One office, every fingerprinting type, by appointment across Greater Houston.
Live Scan Fingerprinting
Live Scan captures your fingerprints digitally — no ink, no smudging — and transmits them electronically to the requesting agency. It’s the fastest, cleanest way to satisfy a Texas licensing, employment, or background-check requirement, and it’s what most state agencies now prefer. Our technicians run Live Scan every day and know the exact capture standards agencies accept, so rejected-print delays don’t happen on our watch.
We provide Live Scan for licensing boards, employers, schools and childcare, healthcare, and volunteer and adoption clearances. If your form lists a service code or ORI number, bring it and we’ll route your submission correctly.
FBI Background Check (Identity History Summary)
Need your FBI record — an Identity History Summary — for employment, immigration, adoption, licensing, or use abroad? We capture the fingerprints and submit them through an FBI-approved channeler, so you get your results quickly and correctly formatted. If your FBI check is headed overseas, it will usually need a federal apostille next; we handle that entire chain in one office.
FDLE (Florida) Fingerprint Submissions
Applying for a Florida license, employer, or agency from here in Texas? The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) requires fingerprints submitted electronically through an approved channel. We capture and submit your prints for FDLE requirements, matched to the ORI or service code your Florida agency assigned — so you don’t have to travel out of state to get it done. Bring the code or authorization from your board or employer and we’ll take it from there.
FD-258 & FD-1164 Fingerprint Cards
Book fast — you already know what you need.
We ink and roll official FD-258 fingerprint cards for federal agencies, out-of-state applications, and any request that specifies a physical card. We can also provide multiple cards per applicant when your application requires more than one.
We also provide the FD-1164 — the FBI’s applicant/personal-record fingerprint card, the civil counterpart to the FD-258 criminal card. Either card can be ink-rolled or printed from a Live Scan capture; just tell us which one your requesting agency specifies and we’ll put your prints on the correct card.
Not sure whether you need a printed FD-258 card or a digital submission? Tell us the agency and form when you book and we’ll capture your prints in the format they accept.
FINRA Fingerprint Submissions
Getting registered in the securities or financial-services industry? FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) requires a fingerprint-based background check as part of your registration through a member firm. We capture and submit your FINRA prints electronically so your registration isn’t held up by a rejected or mis-formatted card. Bring your firm’s submission details and any reference number and we’ll route it correctly the first time.
Fingerprint Card Archiving
Need fingerprint cards more than once? We capture your prints and securely archive your FD-258 fingerprint cards for 3 years for a flat $100. Any time within those 3 years, when a new firm or state board asks for a fresh set, we print your cards for pickup — or mail them to you at cost (you only cover the actual mailing cost). Get fingerprinted once and reuse your prints for 3 years, instead of paying to be re-printed from scratch every time.
Fingerprint once. Reuse for 3 years.
Popular with securities-industry clients who must retain and re-submit prints, and with travel nurses who repeatedly need fingerprint cards for different state nursing boards. We keep your cards on file so the next request is a reprint, not a re-appointment.
EDO — FBI Background Check for Non-U.S. Citizens
An EDO check is the FBI fingerprint-based background check for non-U.S. citizens — the non-citizen counterpart to the FBI Identity History Summary above. If you’ve been asked for an EDO check by an employer, agency, or attorney, we capture the fingerprints and submit them through the required channel, matched to the authorization you were given. Not sure whether you need a standard FBI check or an EDO? Bring your paperwork and we’ll confirm before we submit — so you don’t pay for the wrong service.
Traditional Wet-Ink Fingerprints
Some agencies and out-of-state applications still specifically require traditional ink prints rolled by hand rather than a digital Live Scan capture. We roll clean, agency-ready ink prints on the correct card whenever ink is what’s required.
